With a built-in laser pointer, the Sokkia DT740L 7 Second Digital Theodolite allows surveyors to easily sight exact points when measuring angles. This surveying instrument features superior optics and advanced absolute for crystal clear images of points and reduced power consumption during alignment and layout application.
The DT 740L laser beam reaches up to 660 feet in indoor or outdoor conditions. During leveling, grading, alignment, layout and squaring outdoors, the laser can be recognized up to 164 feet to provide quick aiming. The ultra-narrow beam precisely measures through walls, corners, fence openings and tree branches.
Built-in absolute encoders improve the reliability of angle measurement by using advanced algorithm and digital sampling technology. When the theodolite is restarted, the azimuth is automatically restored to save time on the job site.
Range of Display Modes
You can select the angle display unit that best suits you. Horizontal angle is switchable between clockwise and counterclockwise, angle hold and zero-set functions are also provided.
Right-Angle Sound Notification
The DT740L surveying instrument produces audible tones for each of the four right-angle directions once the zero horizontal angle direction is determined. It sounds two different tones within ±15 degrees of 90 degrees and stops beeping when it comes within ±1 degree.

Featuring a simple four-key operation, dual backlit LCD displays and an integrated reticle illuminator, this Sokkia theodolite offers construction professionals with clear angle readings and the convenience work in low light conditions.
