The powerful sensor electronics of the TIM M1 not only enables process thermography but also the output of temperature data of the center pixel at 1kHz and so the unit can also be used as a pyrometer. The TIM M1 thermal imaging camera is primarily used for temperature monitoring of hardening and forming processes for hot metals but also for processing graphite and ceramics.

The TIM M1 has a standard temperature range of 450 to 1800°C thought the actual ranges vary somewhat depending upon the selected frame rate. Basic accuracy is ±2°C or ±2%, whichever is greater. The imager is only 46 x 56 x 90mm in size and weighs just 320g, including optics. The TIM M1 is ideal for fixed mount applications in tight spaces.

The Micro-Epsilon TIM M1 thermal imager is powered and operated via a USB 2.0 interface. This plug-and-play unit is supplied with a full software package, TIM Connect, that enables the user to configure all device parameters, as well as enabling the real time capture (with a switchable frame rate up to 1 kHz) and storage of images or video of an event for slow motion play back or snapshots at a later date – an important feature in R&D and failure diagnostics work.

Analog inputs and outputs are provided for the TIM M1, as well as digital communication via RS232 or DLL for software integration. Output of analog temperature or trigger/alert values are via process interfaces provided. The camera also comes with a software developer kit and LabVIEW driver as standard.
